📜 Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

By downloading, installing, or using Medicine & Health Reminder ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Description of Service
Medicine & Health Reminder is a free Android application that helps you manage medicine schedules, health checkup reminders, and personal medical records. All core features are provided free of charge, with no advertisements and no in-app purchases.

2. Not Medical Advice
The App is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Reminders, and any logged readings such as weight, BMI, blood pressure, or blood sugar, are for personal tracking only. Always consult a doctor or qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and never disregard or delay seeking professional medical advice because of something tracked or read in this App.

3. Your Responsibilities
You're responsible for the accuracy of the medicine schedules and health information you enter. You're also responsible for keeping your device secure, since data stored on your device — and any optional Google Drive backup — can be accessed by anyone with access to your device or Google account.

4. Optional Google Drive Backup
If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, your reminders and records are stored only in your own private Google Drive Application Data folder, created and managed by the App, and not visible in your regular Drive files. You can disable this feature and delete your backup data from within the App at any time. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

5. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including reliability of alarm delivery under all device conditions, particularly on Android devices where the manufacturer's battery-optimization behavior can interfere with background apps.

6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, including a missed medicine dose or reminder.

7. Changes to the App and These Terms
Features may be added, changed, or removed in future updates. These Terms may be updated from time to time; continued use of the App after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

8. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling removes locally stored data from your device; any Google Drive backup you created remains in your own Google Drive until you delete it yourself.

9. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to [email protected].

🔐 Data Privacy

User privacy is the core principle of this application.

  • Data stored locally on the user's own device by default
  • No personal data stored on developer-owned servers
  • Google Drive backup is completely optional
  • Backup stored only in the user's own private Google Drive AppData folder
  • User data is never sold or shared with third parties
  • No advertisements — no advertising SDKs used

☁️ Google Drive Backup

The application optionally supports Google Drive backup and restore using the Google Drive scope:

drive.appdata

This allows users to securely backup and restore medicine reminders and health records across devices while keeping data private and isolated from normal Google Drive files.

The app cannot access general Google Drive files, photos, videos, or documents — only the user's own AppData folder.

Backup screen (v1.3.6+)

Backup lives on its own screen, reachable from the Backup button on the Medical Records tab. From there you can back up or restore on demand, see when the last backup ran, turn on automatic backup, choose a reminder frequency, or delete the Drive backup permanently.

Automatic weekly backup

Off by default. When enabled, the app backs up roughly once a week, and what it uploads depends on the connection at that moment:

  • Wi-Fi (unmetered) — medicines, health tracker entries and medical record photos.
  • Mobile data (metered) — medicines and tracker entries only. Record photos wait for Wi-Fi, so a background backup can never quietly consume a data allowance.

A manual Back up now behaves differently on purpose: because the user asked for it explicitly, it uploads everything on any connection. Photos already stored in Drive are skipped, so repeat backups stay small.

If automatic backup is left off, the app can instead show an occasional local reminder notification — weekly, monthly, or never.
